Charles Schilling Obituary

It is with great sadness in our hearts and joy in our souls that we announce the passing of Charles L Schilling of Beverly, husband, father and grandfather, who passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2018 into the arms of Jesus. He was born to William and Elizabeth Huck Schilling on November 10, 1940 in Fleming, Ohio. He was married to the love of his life Lillian Huck Schilling on November 15, 1961. Charles graduated from Waterford High School in 1958. Charles and Lillian started Schilling Truss in 1986 after co-owning Schilling and Bauerbach for several years. Charles family was his pride and joy and he enjoyed spending time at the family campground and attending sporting events for his grandchildren. His faith was very important to him. He was a member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He was instrumental in building the social hall at St. Bernard’s and the K of C hall in Churchtown. He was also one of the original board members of Tri County Water. His motto through life was Git –R-Done and he instilled that in his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife Lillian and his family. Anita (Doug) Henry, Lori (Dave) Meek, Jeff (Carma) Schilling, Joe (Keitha) Schilling, Lori Schilling and Charlie (Karri) Schilling: Twenty one grandchildren, Josh, Andy, Ryan, Ashley, Derrike, Tyler, Corey, Dustin, Adam, Alexx, Hannah, Bryson, Lilli, Miles, Jordan, Zack, Bryce, Brady, Bella, Briar, and Benjamin: Eleven great-grandchildren, Jade, Jaymison, Braylon, Brooklynn, Kyrie, Quinten, Brenley, Kate, Ryleigh, Brystal and Sawyer. Eight siblings, Bernard Schilling (Marilyn), Barb Martin (Kyle), Betty Harmon (Ted), Judy Britton (Kenny), Sue Hart, Carolyn Miller, Debbie Kuhn (Steve) and Denise Reed (Mike). He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Nelson Schilling; sister, Ruth Mayo; son, Greg Schilling; Mother and Father in-law, Herbert and Clara Huck; three brothers in-law, Dave Miller, Ted Hart and Dale Slalter and a sister in-law, Jeanette Schwendeman.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at St. Bernard Church in Beverly with Father Tim Kozak officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Friends may call 2-8 pm on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the St. Bernard Hall. Donations may be made to the Greg Schilling Memorial, Beverly Volunteer Fire Department or the Beverly-Waterford Rescue Squad. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is charge of arrangements.
