Betty A. Chandler

Betty A. Chandler, 93, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Marietta. She was born March 25, 1925 in West Virginia, daughter of Glen and Audra Lee Fonner Heston. She had been a librarian at the Beverly Library for many years, an aid at the Beverly Elementary School and was the first pool manager at the Beverly swimming pool. She graduated from M and M High School in McConnelsville, Ohio in 1943. She was a longtime member of the Beverly Presbyterian Church and member and past president of CCL in Beverly. On October 24, 1943 she was married to Ralph Glen Chandler who died on July 8, 1996. She is survived by two daughters, Jayne Ross of Beverly and Sylvia Chadwell and husband Blake of Pickerington, Ohio; five grandchildren, Shawnee Holter and husband Martin of Columbus, Tifnee Roberts of Beverly, Jon Chadwell and wife Jennifer of Granger Indiana, Scott Chadwell and wife Toni of St. Johns, Florida and Audra Chadwell (Jeff) of Chicago, Illinois; six great-grandchildren, Zachary, Zane, Zale, Claire, Greta, Evan and Hayden; a sister in-law, Jeri Chandler of Beverly and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Robert Heston; and a sister, Jane Basenberg.

A graveside will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Beverly Cemetery with Pastor Karl Kesselring officiating. Friends may call from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. Donations may be made to the Beverly Volunteer Fire Department or Marietta Home Health and Hospice.
