Terry Joe Ellis

     Terry Joe Ellis, 79, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Monday, February 5, 2024 at his home. He was born on April 14, 1944 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Wilbur and Mary Wynn Ellis. He graduated from Warren High School in 1962.  Terry was a mechanic by trade and had owned his own business for many years. He later was employed at Lang Masonry as a mechanic. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly, loved the outdoors and spending time with his family and many friends. On July 25, 1964 he was married to Rosa Marie Kern Ellis who survives. Also surviving is a son, Tom Ellis of Waterford; a daughter in-law, Marcy Ellis; grandchildren, Megan (Adam) Miller of Beverly, Kaleigh (Steven) Scott of Lowell and Nick Ellis of Waterford; step grandchildren, Bryan (Chasity) Ring of Michigan and Kevin (Cortney) Ring of Fleming; great grandchildren, Alleeha and James King, Karter Ellis, Sarah Miller, Evelyn Scott and Carson Ring; siblings, Larry (Iris) Ellis of Fleming, Jane Ellis of Fleming and Nina Turner of Marietta; in laws, Janet Hottinger of Waterford, Jerry (Patty) Kern of Marietta and Donald (Donna) Kern of Marietta. Terry was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tim Ellis, grandchild, Kyle Ellis; brothers, Jon, Gayle and Dale Ellis; and his mother and father in-law, Reva and Herman Kern.

     A memorial service and visitation will be held from 1-5 pm on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at St. Bernard Hall in Beverly. The family would also like to thank Dr.Kelli Cawley and Amedisys Hospice for their good care of Terry. Online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
