Carol Silvus Obituary

     Carol A. Silvus, 79, of Beverly, Ohio, died on Saturday, March 2, 2024 surrounded by family. She was born on August 18, 1944 in Marietta, Ohio, daughter of Ivan A. and Jennie Mae Archer Wittekind. Carol graduated from Marietta High School. She was a wonderful mother that adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Smith Chapel United Methodist Church and loved to crochet, knit and make hand crafted greeting cards. She especially loved to be around her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. On December 24, 1965 she was married to Darl E. “Buck” Silvus who survives. Also surviving are her children, Lisa Huck (Damian), Heather Malcomb (Kevin), Stacy Silvus (Elizabeth), Tracy Silvus (Amanda) and Tyrone Scopel (Cathy); grandchildren, Ivan Huck (Astacia), Rachel Heldman (Greg), Steven Weber, Nathan Malcomb, Jake Malcomb (Lyndsay), John White, Shawn Reynolds (Shannon),  Tim White and Carly Scopel; great grandchildren, Slade, Gabe, Ellis, Ben, Miles, Teddy, Brock, Blake, Jordon and Curtis. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Dallas Reynolds, a great grandson, Axel Huck and a sister Margaret Kupec.

     A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 9th at 11am at Smith’s Chapel Cemetery. Donations can be made to Strecker Cancer Center in lieu of flowers. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of the arrangements and online condolences may be made by visiting www.mccurdyfh.com.
