Sharon R. Lockhart

Sharon R. Lockhart, 62, of Beverly, Ohio, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital in Marietta. She was born on March 2, 1955 in Beverly, Ohio, daughter of Robert Clay Baker and Jeanie Clark Baker. She had been a store manager for the Family Dollar Store in Beverly and was a bookkeeper for Hickory Grove in Vincent. She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1973. She was a member of the Dungannon United Methodist Church where she taught adult Sunday school for many years. She had been a Lay Speaker at different churches in the area and had sung with the Glory Land Singers for many years. She also had helped for many years making apple butter for church functions in the area. She was married on December 16, 1974 to Timothy Lockhart, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jason Lockhart (Stephanie Kelley) of Lowell and Joshua Lockhart and wife Erin of Lowell; two daughters, Amy McCurdy and husband Japh of Beverly and Megan Steele of Beverly; sixteen grandchildren; and her mother Jeanie Baker of Coal Run; three brothers, Steve Baker and wife Candy of Beverly, Bill Baker and wife Susie of Beverly and Brian Baker (Mindy Thatcher) of Beverly; four sisters, Sandy Baker of Coal Run, Cindy Angle of Waterford, Debbie Tennant of Myrtle Beach, SC and Susan Baker of Coal Run. She was preceded in death by her father; mother and father in-law Hester and Rega Lockhart and a daughter in-law, Tanya Lockhart. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Pastor James Porter officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery.
