Richard L. Hendershot

Richard L. Hendershot, 68, of Beverly, Ohio, died Sunday, October 1, 2017 at his home. He was born on December 13, 1948 in Marietta, Ohio, son of Dean and Dorothy Beardsley Hendershot. He had been a laborer in the maintenance department for Cytec for several years. He graduated from Marietta High School in 1967 and served in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 389 in Beverly. His passion was playing the guitar and spending time with his grandchildren. He was married March 30, 1975 to Debra Craig Hendershot who died on May 31, 2006. He is survived by a daughter, Kelly Hendershot (Bud Pletcher) of Beverly; a step son Kevin Craig of Dexter City; two grandchildren, Samantha Moore and husband Cody of Waterford and Timothy Hall (Alysa Kern) of Beverly; two great grandchildren, Jayce and Kinley Moore of Waterford; two step-grandchildren, Darin and Alex Craig of Marietta; two sisters and one brother; Special friends, Shirley Numerich of Parkersburg, WV and Tom Sheeks of Columbus, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents. A service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly is in charge of arrangements.
