Raymond Bert Jones died June 8, 2017 at his home.   Ray was born August 7, 1930 to Engle Bert and Roka Inez Combs Jones in Spencer, WV.  His parents relocated to Waterford in 1944, where he attended Waterford High School.   He left high school to join the Marine Corps in 1947 and served during the Korean Conflict. On October 4, 1952 he married his best friend Sara Emma Huck. 

He is survived by his wife Sara and their nine children: Barbara (Steve) Littler, Susan (Mike) West, Mary (Jerry) Hess, Tom (Doddi) Jones, Evelyn (Randy) Hall, Jeff (Shari) Jones, Andy (Sharon) Jones, Debora (Randy) Parsons, Patrick (Peggy) Jones and German foreign exchange daughter Annette Barkow (Bernd)Hansen.

He is also survived by grand-children:  Emily (Scott) Livingstone; Anthony (Melissa) McAtee; Timothy (Tana) McAtee; Stephanie (Brian) Belcher; LeAnn West (Kylee Webb); Alexandra West (Justin Keith); Matthew (Morgan) West; Michael Hess; Jonathan (Kendra) Hess; Sierra Bayless; Dustin (Tiffany) Jones; Daniel (Alicia) Jones; David (Destiny) Jones; Dennis (Kimberly) Jones; Scott, Kelly, Cody Hall (Tracie Suttles); Stephanie (Ryan) Greene; Ashlee Jones; Jesse (Daniel Soloman) Jones; Anna Jones; Randy Parsons Jr., Jesse Parsons, Maggie Jo (Ryan) Parsons; Eric (Jennifer) Westbrook; Jessica (Greg) Emrick; Svea, Finja Hansen.

Great-grand-children:  Allyson Livingstone; Mason, Brynlee, Avery and Emma McAtee; Brittany and Nathan Belcher; Cohen Roland; Quinten Doak; Chase Hess; Allysa Mooney; Lillian and Nora Jones; Alayna, Laykan, Colton and Hayden Jones; Bryce Jones; Ava Jones; Dalson and Austin Greene; Sophia Emrick; Hailey and Matthew Soloman; Sarah and Matthew Westbrook .  He is also survived by his sister Gladys (Bruce) Lehman, brother and sister-in-law Michael and Carol Huck; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ray is preceded in death by his parents, one son Alan Raymond Jones, grand-son Benjamin Joseph McAtee, sister and brother-in-law Victoria and Thomas Crippen, one infant brother, brother-in-law Eugene Huck, mother and father-in-law Raymond and Anna Bauerbach Huck.

Donations in Ray’s memory can be made to the Marietta Post of Disabled American Veterans, Beverly-Waterford Volunteer Fire Department/Rescue Squad, Marietta Home Health and Hospice or the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley. 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Beverly, with Father Timothy Kozak officiating. Burial will be in St. Bernard Cemetery with Military services at the grave. Friends may call 2-8 pm on Sunday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly. A rosary service will be held at 8:00 pm on Sunday.
