Jean Hardman

Emma “Jean” Hardman 89, of Williamstown, WV, died on Sunday, December 31, 2017, in her sleep, at her home from a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born on June 3, 1928, in Nutterville, WV, daughter of Denvin L. and Jennie Olive Brown Nutter. She had been a longtime member of the Beverly Presbyterian Church and most recently the First Presbyterian Church in Marietta. She had been a member of the Marietta Garden Club and was an avid flower arranger. She and her husband Jack enjoyed their retirement in Brevard, NC for many years before moving to Williamstown in 2005. She was married on March 25, 1950 to W. Jack Hardman who survives. Also surviving are two children, Anne McCurdy and husband Mike of Beverly and Bob Hardman and wife Kelly of Marietta; five grandchildren, Rachael McCurdy and husband Frank Brunetti of Brooklyn, NY, Jason McCurdy of Hermosa Beach, Cal., Ryan McCurdy of Marietta, Shaun McCurdy of Beverly and Ashley Hardman of St. Petersburg, Fl.; and one great granddaughter, Aneesha McCurdy of Marietta. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jerry Nutter and a sister, Nina Bragg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Rev. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday.
