Gerald A. Lang

Gerald A. Lang, 81, of Waterford, Ohio, died Tuesday April 11, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born February 4, 1936 in Churchtown, Ohio, son of Joseph E. and Mary Arnold Lang. He was a farmer all of his life and previously worked for Lowell  Home Builders. He graduated from Lowell High School in 1954. He was a member of the St. John the Baptist Church in Churchtown, Knights of Columbus, Sons of American Legion and Moose Lodge of Marietta. He had also been a Trustee for Watertown Township. He was married on December 12, 1984 to Martha Schultheis Lang who survives. Also surviving are three daughters,  Joyce Lang , of Marietta, Ohio, Tammie Farmer of Hockingport, Ohio, Ann Clark and husband Ivan of Boardman, Ohio; one son, Rick Lang and wife Denise of Waterford, Ohio; four step children, Cindy Lang of Texas,  Jack Cheeseman of Elizabeth, WV, Jerry Cheeseman of Parkersburg, WV and Jim Cheeseman and wife Bonnie of Elizabeth, WV; sixteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren;  four brothers; Delbert and Norma Lang, Robert and Edna Lang, John and Janet Lang, and Harold Lang; two sisters, Evelyn Neil, and Shirley and Bob Oliver;  He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Walter, Bernard, Glenn, Joseph, James and Vincent Lang; two sisters, Alice Schilling and Grace Strahler.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, April 17, 2017 at St. John the Baptist Church at Churchtown with Father Virgil Reischman officiating. Burial will in St. Johns Cemetery. Friends may call 2-8 pm on Saturday at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly  with a Rosary Service to be held at  4:30 pm.
