Duane H. Henry

Duane Herbert Henry, 52, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Waterford, Ohio, peacefully went to be with the Lord and sweetly reunited with his mother on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born December 12, 1964 in Marietta, son of Dean H. and Barbara A. Weinstock Henry. He graduated from Ewing School, attended Wasco Workshop and competed in numerous Special Olympic events. Those left to cherish his memory are his dad and stepmother, Dean and Rosemary Henry of Waterford; three brothers, Doug (Anita) Henry of Beverly, Dwight Henry of Marietta and Dale (Rebecca) Henry of Millwood, WV; two step siblings, Tim Downs (Jodi) of McConnelsville and Tami Downs (Mel) of Marietta; thirteen nieces and nephews; five great nieces and nephews; and many friends and family at Hillcrest and Wasco Workshops. He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Henry. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, May 29, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Rev. John Harra and Dr. Lloyd Dennis officiating. Burial will be in Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 2-8 pm on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wasco Workshop. A special thanks to Doctor Lloyd Dennis and all the Doctors and nurses at Marietta Memorial Hospital. Duane’s special purpose in life was to put a smile on the faces of everyone he met.
