Barbara A. Stephens

Barbara A. Stephens, 73, of Waterford, Ohio, died on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Highland Oaks in McConnelsville, Ohio. She was born on March 20, 1944 in Lowell, Ohio, daughter of James Huston and Bertha Gillispie Rohrbough. She graduated from Fort Frye High School in 1962 and had been a cook at Waterford Elementary School for 15 years. She was a member of the Waterford United Methodist Church where she was active in the Choir. She was also a member of the Red  Hat Society and CCL. She was married on April 21, 1963 to Glen L. Stephens who survives. She is also survived by two sons, Brian Stephens and his wife Leslie of Lexington, South Carolina and Scott Stephens and his wife Christy of Powell, Ohio; three grandchildren, Courtney Stephens of Charleston, South Carolina, Ryan Stephens and wife Emily of Kings Bay, Georgia and Cory Stephens of Powell, Ohio.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Kathleen Tolley and a brother, James Rohrbough.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at McCurdy Funeral Home in Beverly with Rev. Russell White officiating. The burial will be in the Beverly Cemetery. Friends may call 1-3 and 5-7 pm on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Highland Oaks Memory Care Unit, 4114 N. St. Rt. 376, McConnelsville, Ohio, 43756.
